EDI and SPS Commerce feeds

Overview

• The Faction platform reads the EDI and SPS Commerce feeds MSC already receives.
• Feeds are checked before any RFQ is sent.
• Suppliers set up nothing new.

Phase: Pilot. MSC owner: MSC IT.

Setup

1. MSC IT lists the feeds in scope and gives Faction read access, by SFTP or API, whichever MSC already uses.
2. Faction ingests and normalises the feeds, and confirms coverage with MSC IT on sample records.

How feeds are used

For each line, sources are checked in this order: vendor portals, EDI and SPS Commerce feeds, known suppliers by hierarchy tier, then the open web. A value taken from a feed records the feed as its source.

Security

• Read-only access through a dedicated service account.
• TLS 1.3 in transit.

MSC provides: read access to the feed outputs.

Faction handles: ingestion, normalisation and monitoring.
